Former WNBA All-Star Lisa Leslie will be the keynote speaker for the Semoball Awards that are happening later this summer in July. These awards are presented by SoutheastHEALTH and are also sponsored by the St. Louis Cardinals, Bank of Missouri, SEMO ESPN Radio and the five major newspapers in the southeast region of Missouri. Leslie is going to share some of her exciting stories from life in the WNBA as well as what she is up to now with her two children. In addition to that, she will likely discuss her book which she wrote titled “Don’t Let the Lipstick Fool You”, along with some words of wisdom for the newest awards winners.
The Gardena, California native started playing basketball as far back as her middle school years. She continued on perfecting her craft and eventually decided to attend the University of Southern California from 1990-1994. After graduating from college she went on to join the Los Angeles Sparks for 12 years between 1997 and 2009. In addition to that, she represented the United States at four different summer Olympic games where she helped her team bring back the gold every time. The two-time WNBA champion is one of the most famous women to ever hit the court, and it is no surprise to see her sought out for speaking engagements.
